As an architect naturally my favorite TV show has always been MTV Cribs. I'm addicted to it. Seeing where crazy people live and how people waste there money is interesting to me. For example one of the all time greats is...Tommy Lee. He has a room totally furnished in yellow fuzzy uposltry.."I call it the Big Bird room".....Brilliant. " We all know what goes down in the big bird room"...what a tool. I can't get enough of it. Another notable Cribs moment was the Shaq cribs. 60,000 square feet of a shrine to shaq. Gold superman plates...over sized superman beds...segways indoors. I love that stuff. In one notable crib we go to the modest LA home of Dave Navarro(guitarist for Janes addiction, and the chili peppers for 2 bad albums). Dave's home is littered with typical rocker cliche's: a bondage room, a recording studio, a hot tub big enough to fit all the strippers in LA. What sets this idiots home apart from others is a life size image of a young Vietnamese man getting executed during the Vietnam war in his kitchen. Dave explains that he put that there to remind him of how "fragile life is".....what a moron. But by far my favorite cribs episode of all time was in 2001. Russel Simon's and his new wife Chomora lee Simon's where showing MTV around there newly renovated 6000 sf apartment in the heart of the Tribecca New york. It was the coolest place I've ever seen. It was the kind of place that if a genie popped out of a bottle and asked me for one wish....i'd wish for that place. Obviously nobody needs 6000 sf of living space, but it was the way they lived in it that really affected me. It was a family home with spaces for gathering spaces for meditating. On his roof terrace he had a perfect view of the Hudson river, and towering over his head where the twin towers. It was like he lived in between them. In that episode Russel takes us into his giant living room with a sectional sofa big enough to seat every player on the Cleavland Browns. Russel looks right at the camera and says" I see all you rappers on MTV cribs and you all got big screen TV's.....well so do I." That line floored me and I've always say it whenever I have the chance.....its like he didn't even care about the TV, he probably doesn't even watch it. I guess that's how i feel about this blog. I may or may not post anything here that people care about or read...but I'm going to do it anyway. I'm going to write about music I like, and restaurants I go to. I'm going to tell funny stories about my kids and rant about the phillies.....if I even do any of this i'll be suprised, but you people got your blogs...well so do I.
One side note: Russel Simmon's home was completely destroyed by the terrorist attack on 9/11. A good lesson about random autonomy, and how fragile life is. Dave Navarro house survived the attacks unfortunaly.

Naturally my horrible spelling and bad grammer will continue...
